Drivers are the essential part of your PC; they bring a software interface to your hardware allowing Operating Systems to access them. However, they can get to old, incompatible, or corrupted, which may create problems with your PC functionality, creating crashes, errors, and BSODs that will prevent you from performing intended tasks.
This can be rather frustrating and create a lot of problems, but in most cases, it can be easily solved, by uninstalling the problematic driver, which is real easy and consists only of a few steps that are presented in the following:

If you ended up in the situation where driver uninstallation is a necessary operation, these are the steps that you need to go through in order to do that:
The first way you can do this is by using the device’s uninstaller.
This way you can remove not only the driver, as well as its software, which is usually installed along with the driver and takes a lot of space and resources. Since you already want to remove the driver, it would probably be a good idea to uninstall the software as well.
- In order to do that, you need to enter Settings, which can be done by typing “Settings” in the Search box
and left-click them when they show up among the results.
- Enter “Apps”,
and in the newly opened window go to “Apps & features” and look for your driver and its software.
- Once you’ve found it, left-click it, select “Uninstall”
and that is it. Repeat the same operations on every unwanted driver and software.
The second way you can uninstall your drivers is pretty similar to the first approach; however, the tasks are managed in the Control panel.
- If you have decided to go for this process, you must first enter the Control panel by typing “Control panel” in the Search box.
- When it appears among the results, left-click on it,
and in the newly opened window, select “Uninstall a program” (shows up under the “Programs” category).
- In the newly opened window, find the driver and the software that you want to remove, right-click on it, press Uninstall
and that is it. Your unwanted drivers and software will be removed.
There is also a third way you can uninstall your unwanted drivers, and this one takes place in the Device Manager.
- Similar to the first two processes, this one also begins with the Search box, where you need to type “Device Manager” and wait for it to appear among the results.
- Once it does, you need to enter it,
find the device category that is making problems to your computer and expand it by left-clicking on it.
- After that, right-click on the problematic device, select “Uninstall”, in the drop-down menu,
and voila, your unneeded driver will be removed.
