Hi Leslie,

The only BT 5 from our list is from Techkey. If that’s what you’ve bought, if you search the Q&A section on Amazon for “32”, you’ll find the comment “An easy and perfect solution for old computers like Windows 7 (32-bit OS)”. So it worked on 32 bit Win 7 of one of the buyers. Sure, it may happen that it still doesn’t work in your particular case for some reason. If that’s what you’ve bought, for further assistance you can try to contact https://www.mytechkey.com/pages/contact-us.

So I ask did you test your recomended bluetooth adapters on every version of windows from XP upto windows 10 pro? & did any run on all versions of windows 32bit & 64bit systems?

Hi Victor,

It’s unlikely because BT 5 speed is lower than even USB 2.0 so you’ll still be limited by BT capabilities.

I have usb 3.2 gen 2 ports available, will that help transfer speeds?

Hi Marie,

They all should work fine. TP-Link is currently on sale so its good value for the money. But if you won’t be satisfied with audio quality and need something fancy like aptx, there are Bluetooth Audio Transmitters you can try like https://www.amazon.com/dp/B083TD9VW4/ or https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01G3J1I5M/ (but they don’t work for mouse, keyboards, etc).

The school let her borrow an old Dell Latitude laptop that they converted into a Chromebook but it doesn’t have bluetooth. Thanks.

You can search for it in Windows Device Manager or you can install CPU-Z (or similar) and check it there.

Thanks for the feedback. I have another question. How would I determine what chipset my laptop uses? It’s an Acer Aspire E E5-575G-55KK the only thing that I can find out is that it is 4.1
